We just tend to have it from a package because mostly when we have stuffing my Mam is here and she asks for the packaged stuff, so we get it for her.

There is such thing as forever... I hope you get to spend it with Russel. :)

I know what you mean about the past year though... I have the notion that bush had figured that things were going to blow up in the next president's face. But like everything else in the Bush presidency, he miscalculated.

I am glad that food and fuel prices are starting to come down. That has a shot at making the looming recession shorter. The thing that made the Carter recession so bad was that wages shrunk and prices went up at the same time. We've had that under Bush for the past three years too, but hopefully inflation will get back in check with somebody sane at the helm.Indigohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14698310099287418741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-270954739652857229.post-69341670460441744462008-11-22T21:42:00.000-06:002008-11-22T21:42:00.000-06:00I often wonder if the media isn't a huge part of t...I often wonder if the media isn't a huge part of the problems with our economy.

I have had a pretty uneventful year, other than in January when I lost a cousin who was just 27 years old and was in good health so we were all mystified and could not accept his death very easily. Other than that we moved to Mississippi in January and have just been getting used to life here while we try to find a job closer to our family in Georgia.

I actually have preferred stove top at times, but that is because my mom always put giblets in her stuffing and I thought that is the way all stuffing is made and I don't like it. I know make the following instead of the normal stuffing with bread. This has become a favorite for my husband and I, even though we don't really watch our carbs per se we prefer this to the traditional stuffing.

Recipe courtesy George Stella, George Stella's Livin' Low Carb: Family
Recipes Stella-Style, Simon and Schuster, 2005

Recipe Summary
Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Yield: 8 servings

Stuffing is commonly made with bread or croutons, which makes it off limits to
low-carbers. But it doesn't have to be made that way. There's nothing wrong
and everything right with substituting chopped vegetables to make up the
missing bulk. So don't get stuffed. Try this recipe instead of all that bread!

3/4 pound turkey sausage (you may use pork breakfast sausage)
1/4 cup finely chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped red onion
2 eggs
2 cups coarsely chopped cauliflower
1/2 cup diced yellow squash
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves
3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage leaves
3 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Equipment: 8 by 8-inch square baking dish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Remove sausage from casing and crumble it into a pan over medium heat.
Add the celery and onion and cook, stirring, until browned. Drain fat if
necessary.

Beat the eggs in a bowl. Using a spoon, mix in the sausage mixture and all the
remaining ingredients. Pour the stuffing into the baking dish and bake until hot
and browned, about 30 minutes. Serve immediately.

Nutrition Information
Nutritional Analysis per serving Calories 120
Fat 2 Saturated Fat 2
Carbohydrates 3 Fiber 1

Episode#: LL1B05
Copyright © 2003 Television Food Network, G.P., All Rights Reserved

You have moved near as much as we have.
