Best Friends

I think it's once in a lifetime that you find a true friend, if you're lucky. There are friends who come and go over the years but that one true friend will forever be there for you. This is the friend who knows you as well as you know yourself, the friend who says the same thing as you do at the same time when you're talking.....the friend who knows what you're thinking. This friend loves you unconditionally...no matter how much you screw up. This is what my wonderful friend wrote to me on Valentines day and I don't think he'd mind my sharing it. I think this says it all and it's what real friendship is about.

Opening ourselves up, allowing ourselves to be transparent, and creating that vulnerability can be a very scary thing. And it's a wonderful feeling to know you have someone to put yourself in those places, in a safe and secure environment with. To share and hold each other together, so we each have the courage to face life's challenges. Thanks Barb for being that Safe Space, where I can go and vent and talk and laugh. You're a true friend, probably the only real friend I have, and I believe that's one of the most important thing in the world.
I pray that today of all days, you be filled with unconditional love and compassion. Everything you do, every thought you think, every feeling you feel is saturated completely with the divine Love that is God. That you may be filled to excess with the happiness of Valentine.
