Wednesday Thoughts

It's a cool, cloudy beautiful day here. The air is calm, the birds are singing and I'm listening to my favorite radio station at I just went outside to pick these flowers to bring some springtime into the house. I think they are tiger lilys. At least that's what we used to call them when I was a kid. It was a surprise to see what these flowers were when they finally bloomed. There are lots of them all around the yard. I wonder how long they bloom. Anybody know?
We've had a lot of rain lately and the garden is growing like crazy. Everything looks really good. Here are a few updated garden pictures. These are tomato plants. Varieties....Early Girl and Big Boy.
Zucchini (this is growing very fast!) Russell better learn to like it cause we are going to have tons. ;)
I can't wait to have a much bigger garden next year. I will plant a lot of things from seeds instead of buying plants so it won't cost me so much in that area. But I will have to buy wood for the raised beds and the stuff to fill them.

Although it may be sooner than we expected, it may be time for Russell to start his own business. His job situation is not looking promising and this just may be a blessing in disguise. It just may be the push he needed to get motivated to do something where he is his own boss. I think we will just follow the path that spirit leads us in. As they say when one door closes, another one opens.....

Peace and blessings to y'all.

  1. Garden looks wonderful! We have had a ton of rain as well, but no garden growing for us in a downtown condo! Good luck to Russell in starting his own business. As you said, one door closes and another opens!

  2. That beautiful flower looks like what we call Tiger Lily around here. Grows pretty wild along the sides the back roads. Always a treat to hit a stretch of them in full bloom.

Good luck to Russell. He seems so handy one wouldn't think finding work would be hard, the economy is pretty awful just now.

Something tells me you ought to start looking for Zucchini recipes... for cake, pie, cookies, ice cream, bread, stir fries, salads and you name it! Then that stuff grows - it really grows!

  3. Great garden pics, and your flowers are lovely!. You're right that this may be a blessing in disguise for Russell, and just the push he needs!

    Keep us informed!

  4. My wife's gearing up for the garden tour in our area. We'll have folks walking through our backyard. It's our first year do it.

  5. Glad your garden is doing well.

Good luck to Russel (and you, for that matter) whatever happens. *hugs*
