This and That (Random Stuff)

One of these days I'm going to try to fry an egg on the sidewalk. Ok we don't have a sidewalk so I'll try it on the driveway. It was 106 today. If it gets down into the 90's I believe that will be considered a cold front. It's been too hot to do much of anything. Well I did go cut the grass in the backyard a couple of days ago and after that I thought I was going to die. Why I even cut it I don't know. Russell has a riding mower but I insisted on doing it myself, probably because I'm stubborn and told him I would mow our yard this summer cause I liked to do it. See what I got myself into? ;)
I have not been doing too much cooking, just simple things. I did cook some shredded barbeque chicken for sandwiches yesterday in the crockpot that came out pretty good. I really need to get a smaller crockpot. Mine is a big oval one. I'll probably get a 3 or a 4 qt one. That should work for the two of us.

I've been doing pretty good about hanging out most of my laundry. Gotta be green ya know! I need to get some recycling containers of some sort because unfortunately I have not been recycling in any form. That's pretty bad. Hopefully I can find something that can go in the house so they can't be too big. I'm afraid to leave them outside because with all the wind we get, they just may blow away, even into the next county.

Warning (vent) You may want to skip this but I think I should feel free to say what I want to say.
This next part will be somewhat censored from what I'd really like to say. After all, I can't use that kind of language on my blog. It's not r-rated, at least I hope not.
Russell has some real *&^%$# (insert whatever word you choose) in his family. Not family here, but in AZ. His youngest son lives with his Mother and for the past year, the mother has let the son's gf live with them as well, since the son was 16 1/2. The Mother is all for them getting married even at that young age. But that is not the problem at all. The problem is that his son's gf is emotionally disturbed. They are all on MySpace as is Russell and there's this silly little game called buy your own friends . Russell bought this girl as well as his son and all of the sudden he is a pervert, a ba$****, and this young lady has the most horrible foul mouth that I have ever heard on a girl. She threatened to cut of certain body part's of Russells(you can guess what) and carve out his eyes as well as other things. We have never seen such anger in a person. And it's all over a game. She does not realize she is destroying the relationship between a father and a son. I ignored it for quite some time until she started saying it was incest for Russell to be buying her. Remember this is just a little game with the click of a mouse. So then I wrote her an email and said what I had to say and now I'm going to totally ignore the situation. I think Russell should do the same. To do otherwise is just feeding this girl's anger. What would you do in a situation like this? I'm sure there are a few of you out there with dysfunctional family members that you've had to deal with at one time or another. End of vent.

  1. Goodness - such an unexpected, and truly bizzare reaction to a game.

I bet if he hadn't done anything, he would still be getting their misplaced wrath "because he was ignoring them" or something.

You just can't please someone that has it in their head to be disagreeable.

And that stinking heat much really make it all the more miserable.

  2. I agree--some people are just looking for things to be angry about. I'd just try to ignore her. Responding any further, once you've said your piece, just gives them fuel, you know? What would I do? If I were your hubby--I'd quit the game and not respond to her. Steer clear--not speak to or email or whatever--and try to send healing energy to them both. How unhappy she must be! And making the son unhappy in the process. But--their choices, right? Worry about clearing out or releasing your own reactions--or she gets to inflict her negativity into your life--your space. Some people are the same miserable people till they are 90! We often worry so much about other people's weird opinions--and we do not have to explain ourselves--to anybody. Don't let her bring you down, lady! :):)

  3. It's impossible to know what to do in situations like those, because no matter what you do you'll be in the wrong.

  4. UGH All over a game, actually I have seen this game being posted as well in facebook! I must say I have to agree with both Rita and Tori, for one no matter what would have been done you'd not be right obviously, and 2, I would not acknowlege any emails myspace comments or anything of the such,....I have a similar family issue brewing with an Aunt and cousin and I tell ya it's not fun...

IF you need some healing energy sent, please say the word and I will do what I can.
