Rain.....and more rain.

It's been raining since Friday and I'm loving it! Russell actually got a bit of time off yesterday when I was working and he was able to do some work in the new bathroom. He's got the hole made for the toilet and the sink and toilet are in place but not secured yet. There is a lot more room in there than we thought there would be. I sure am glad he thought of doing this project.  He is trying to get someone to texture the walls, as he does not really have time to do it. He knows somebody who can do it but I think that guy is kinda busy. I hope he can make the time. I wish I knew how to do it. We may just have to do it ourselves and learn along the way.

Once again, Russell needs a new transmission in his truck. The last one he had put in when we were still in SC......well that place was a joke. Now recently he brought his truck to a Ford place to get the shifter fixed and went to get it and found out they had blown the transmission. Well of course, they won't admit to doing it.  They say the truck was like that. So now he's going to a reputable place his Dad recommends and it will be about $2500 dollars for them to rebuild it. It's always something. It's one step forward and two steps back. Well, at least that is what it feels like.  We were supposed to get a driveway put in but it looks like those plans will be on hold.

I'm going to make some changes to my blog so take note of this email. CelticSpiritNM@aol.com. I don't want to lose track of anyone who regularly comments on here.  I figure it's time to change the look of it and some other stuff as well.

Well I'm off to work in a bit. I sure am looking forward to my two days off this week. I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

  1. I know what you mean! Been saving up for the new recliner with legs--and it will all be gone for the new glasses. Nothing like you and Russell's dilemma, but similar. I hate car troubles!

You'll get it all taken care of eventually. I think the things that take us so long to work toward are the things we appreciate the most, tho. You guys are going to LOVE that bathroom--whenever it gets done--and the driveway--whenever it gets done. ;)

I'm curious as to how you are going to change your blog. I've never even figured out how to add all the stuff other people have down the sides, etc. Maybe if and when my mind clears...ROFL!! :):)

  2. Things will get done in the end... At least progress is being made! I'm glad there's more room than you thought there would be in the bathroom... Always nice to have more space than expected.

  3. Maybe there is a video on youtube that explains how to texture the bathroom walls... or the website for This Old House or similar show?

The unexpected expense - seems like we ought to expect them even if we don't know what it might be ... just yet. I'm sure I've got one (or two) coming at me now too. Hang in there.
