Sacred Protectors. For R.

Sacred Protectors

Hovering around us
Beings of Light
Protectors from God
In the midst of the night

Angels surround us
Feeling their power
Their incredible strength
In our darkest hour

Appearing as humans
with magnetic blue eyes
nobody seeing
beyond their disguise

They lend a hand
A stranger in the night
We turn to thank them
but they're no longer in sight

A feeling of peace
Knowing they're here
Whenever we need them
to ease our fears

Call on your Angels
Ask for a sign
Open your heart
Receive the divine

  1. Happy St. Pat's day, Barb!!!

As for the baseball-bat sized zukes, yep. When our zuke plants actually produced year before last, we went over to the FIL's one day to see what needed picking, and decided to give the zukes another day before we picked the 2 that were almost ready. I kid you not when I say that they went from being 6" long to being as long as my fore-arm by the following afternoon! (one freaking "night" and those things grew from 6 to 12 inches!!! Holy cow!) Those got shredded & put into baggies for zuke bread & such. The next couple that came ripe, we picked right away & got to sautee them.

Zukes are definitely in my plans for this next summer. They'll go in the back along the side of the shed, with my chard plants.
