Wildly Windy Day

I just ran to Homeland (grocery store) to get some coke. I didn't realize it was so windy and I had no coat on and it was freezing. So anyhow I get to the store and when I walk in the door I couldn't believe it. There were leaves all over the floor all the way to the back of the store. They were just blowing in the front door which is automatic and kept opening to let customers in. There is a wind break type thing in front of the doors but they kept on blowing in. It was kinda funny but I felt bad for the employees there who would have to clean up that mess. The winds here are blowing up to 38 mph here. This is the windiest place I've ever lived. There's no point in fixing up your hair if you live here and it's windy. The wind just messes it up!

I was going to go to attend the Unity church service today. I got all showered and then double checked online the time of the service. I thought it was at 11:30 but when I checked it said 11:00. :( So I didn't have enough time to go since it will probably take me 45 minutes to get there. But now that gas is so cheap I want to at least check it out. I'm going to try to make it next Sunday.

I'm making turkey soup right now and it smells yummy as it is cooking. That takes care of the rest of the turkey. I'm kinda getting sick of eating it anyhow and yesterday when I came home at 10 pm I bought McDonald's food to eat since Russell was working and I don't like cooking just for myself.

I overheard a strange conversation at work with a customer. You wouldn't believe some of the things I hear!. Anyhow this woman was taking to another woman and she was saying....Yeah he wears the pants in this family but I tell him which ones to wear. She was speaking of her husband. They were at the next register over and and she walked off and her husband followed behind her. This makes me think....why does anyone think they have to be in *charge* of a relationship? What's wrong with having a partnership where decisions are made jointly? Another thing I've been thinking about is the 50/50 thing. Two partners in a relationship are supposed to give 50% each. I think that's a crock of sh*& and pardon my language. I think each person in a relationship should give it their all and give it 100%. Do you only give 50 % at your job? I think not. So why would you only give 50% to your partner? Well this is something that's been going through my mind lately. I'd like to hear what you think about it.

Well that's it for now. I hope y'all are enjoying your weekend.
Blessings.

  1. I agree with your views on partners in a relationship. If you're not going to give it your all then why are you in the relationship? And nobody should be or needs to be "in charge" in a relationship. Kelly and I sometimes joke about who's boss today, but neither of us are actually in charge of the other. I make my own decisions, but consult him, and vice versa. Isn't that why they're called "partners"?

  5. I am so with you on the relationship thing. When my mil was alive she used to tell my husband he needed to wear the pants in his and mine relationship. I really think she was jealous of how we made all of our decisions together. Sad really that she had to be that way because she pushed him a way so and we could have made a lot more memories together while she was still with us... I believe we all give 100% in a relationship and if I make a higher salary so what...there is something he can do that I can't...it all works out in the end.

I wish we had a Unity church here...someday hopefully I'll live near one again. For now I will enjoy my Podcasts and I am thinking about talking to my husband about doing our own little thing each Sunday until we find others to share and learn with on a regular basis.

    Hugs...Stephie
