Fake Flowers For The Dead
I wish I could say to all the customers today who bought all the big, ugly arrangements of fake flowers to stick on the graves of their loved ones....your dearly departed does not give a rat's a$$ about such materialistic things. They would probably say....don't waste your money. Instead of memorializing their death, celebrate their life. Remember the good times. Say a prayer. Talk to them. They do hear us. There is no actual *death*. They have simply moved onto a higher vibration. Nothing is ever lost. Not ever.Creative Cooking
I like to just throw stuff together when I cook. Tonight I made what I will call Mexican Chicken. I threw together:3 chicken breasts, cooked and cut up
about 2 cups of rice, cooked
1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can of corn, drained
some garlic powder and chili powder
Mix those all together and top with a 16 oz jar of salsa and about 1/2 cup of cheese and a can of green chilies. Bake covered for about 3 minutes at 350 degrees. This recipe had no added fat so it is probably pretty healthy. I'm sure there is some fat in the chicken but not too much since I used breasts and there may be a bit in the cheese.
I think it came out pretty yummy and we both had seconds. :) I think it would also be good with lean ground beef instead of the chicken.
I totally agree with the shopping local...I am always on the look out for places like that...
ReplyDeleteThis recipe sounds good...I am a create my own also...I'll post a salad I had this week that was really yummy...

ReplyDeleteI always try to avoid the "big box" stores whenever posible.
That dish looks really yummy.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't much left of the mom and pop stores around my area anymore. The big chains put them out of business 15-20 years ago - and my town's main street looks like a ghost town. So now its "all the same mediocre stores" in every corner.
I'd shop more in the local shops, but the only way I can really do the shopping myself is online, and nobody else seems all that interested in going to the local shops instead (nor in taking me to them).
ReplyDeleteThrowing stuff together often makes for great meals.
