Daddy's Little Girl

got married today. It was all very last minute. Last night Russell's phone rang while he was up on the roof so I answered it and it was his daughter Tanya. She said she was doing to get married Friday (which is today) and wanted us to come. So Russell called his work to make sure he could get it off and then very early this morning we drove to Texas. They got married in an informal ceremony by a judge in a courtroom and there will be a more formal ceremony at a later date. Here are a couple of pics of Tanya and her hubby Jimmy. It was a very nice ceremony and Jimmy who is in the military is a very likable young man. From what we've seen on the several occasions we have met him he is responsible and will make Tanya a good husband. I think they make a very good match and Russell was happy to welcome him into the family.

  2. Awwww.... That's so sweet. I hope that this quickie wedding is a sign that they know the important part is the length and strength of the MARRIAGE, not the length and cost of the wedding. *wink* Congrats to the newly-weds!

  3. Oh that's so nice that you could make it to be there with them! (I am not one for ceremonies and hoopla in general--hehe!) Most important--that they are happy and you like the young man--and they wanted you to be there. Blessing to them! :):)

  5. Congrats on starting out as a married couple without the added debt of wedding bills.

  6. I'm sure they appreciate the congrats. I feel the same way as some of you do about not spending tons of money on a wedding. Why go into a marriage in debt? It's the marriage that is what important, not the wedding.
