What is your favorite....

I just love the movie Dragonfly that has Kevin Costner in it. We just watched it recently. It's about a couple who are both doctors. The guy's wife... even though she is pregnant decides to go off on a trip with the Red Cross to the jungle of Venezuela. She dies in a tragic accident. Anyhow she tries to contact him in different ways to send him a message. I can't say what the message in case you have not seen it. To me this movie is FAITH and believing. It's just an awesome movie with a good ending. It says....anything is possible if you don't give up.

Another one I love is The Lake House. It has Sandra Bullock in it and normally I don't like her as an actress but I love the story. It's about the past getting mixed up with the future. The woman in this story meets a young man who she ends up writing letters to but they are from two years apart. It's kinda hard to have to see it to understand. For the man the year is 2004 and for the woman it's 2006. They correspond and fall in love. They change the future by something she tells the man and it changes things in a good way. It's just a great feel good movie with a good ending. This movie also has the message....anything is possible.

I ordered Netflix recently. I had it a few years back but it's much better now. They now have over 17,000 movies that you can watch instantly and you can also order DVDs for at home. Russell ordered a device so that we can watch the movies on our TV and won't have to even go through the computer. It should be coming in the mail tomorrow. Back to's only 16.99 a month and that's the highest priced one. They have cheaper plans also. It's really great. They have so many more movies than Red Box. I can watch neat spiritual type stuff as well. I've been watching some documentaries about Buddhism and watched a really great one about the Dalai Lama. Gotta love that guy! He's got a fantastic sense of humor....who would have thought it?

Well I guess since it's almost 2 a.m. I better go to bed.
Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. my favorite movie is Center Stage. =]

  2. I don't think I could pick a favorite movie! :)

I used to see a movie every week with someone special and when she and I stopped doing that - I've stopped seeing movies at the theater. But for about 10 years we saw one every week (and sometimes two).

Depending on the mood - I would say, "2001 - A Space Oddessy", "Jerry McGuire", "Harold and Maude", "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "Driving Miss Daisy"... :) I could go on... "Cast Away", "The Silence of the Lambs", "Jaws".

I hope you have many enjoyable hours watching movies with the guy you love.

  3. Indigo Incarnates

    My favorite five movies?

    For a Few Dollars More
    Pod People
    Streets of Fire
    The ABC Murders

  4. I can't pick a favourite movie. I have a handful of movies I could watch over and over again without tiring of them... "Practical Magic" "Spirited Away" "Miracle On 34th Street" "A Little Princess" and the Harry Potter movies being the ones at the top of that list... Does that count?

  5. We just signed back up for Netflix after being away from it for quite a few years also. We have an Xbox 360 in the living room and can watch the movies over that and then in the bedroom we hook up the Netbook and watch them over that with the is great.

  6. I LOVE Netflix! Being home almost 24/7 these past several years, because of Netflix I have seen more movies in the last four years than I saw the whole rest of my life combined--hehe!

I'd have a really difficult time picking a favorite movie, too. I love soooo many movies, documentaries, TV series, Indi films, foreign flicks, etc. But I'd say one of my favorites is an oldie--It's A Wonderful Life. I first saw it on TV back in 1969 at a time I was feeling like a candle in the wind. Made me think about whether even my life could be worthwhile to somebody along the way. Gave me spiritual hope at a time I sorely needed it. :):)

  7. I totally adore the Lake House, Frequency with Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel is another good one that uses time shift to tell the tale!!
Don't know what Netflix is but enjoy all those films!
