The Holidays

I haven't posted for awhile because I'm worn out from the holiday. First I spent 2 days cleaning before Thanksgiving, then I did mostly all of the cooking and I made a lot of food! I cooked a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, homemade gravy, pumpkin pie, and chocolate chip cream cheese squares. I had the ingredients to make a blueberry pie but did not have time to make it. Russell cooked a ham on the smoker. There was other food such as cranberry sauce, and some pecan pies and ambrosia that someone else brought. I enjoy cooking during the holidays even though it's so much work. Well it's a lot of work for a meal that will be eaten in about a half hour. I think Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it's one of the few holidays left with no commercialism. No gifts, no greediness, just a time to contemplate what we are thankful for. I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  1. Good to hear from you! I was about to send out the search and rescue elves!

Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and are recovering. If it would help you any, I will be right over to work on those leftovers!

And speaking of search and rescue, I will be posting some scary stuff on my blog later tonight!

I'll check your blog later. I hope everything's ok.
