Simple Living

I love the concept of simple living. It goes right along with that saying...Less is More. I can understand why some people feel the need to collect *stuff* and why they want more, more more. Gotta keep up with the Jones's right? Well....I used to be such a person. As the years have gone by I have realized that no matter how much stuff you have, it can't buy happiness. I look at it this way. The more stuff you feel the need to buy, the more hours you have to work to pay for that stuff....then what? When do you have the time to use it?
One thing I've noticed is that getting rid of unnecessary things in my home is very freeing. The easiest way to do it is to not bring them into the house in the first place. (pay attention packrat bf) Having a neat, clutterfree home lends itself to a sense of peace (when bf is not driving me crazy) and calm. Less things in my home =less dusting! Less tripping on things (yeah I'm a klutz) and less cleaning. Simple living means different things to different people. Now I'm not about to get so simple that I go down to the creek and beat the laundry on the rocks and hang it on the tree branches. But i will do things like bake bread and hang the laundry on the clothesline and make stuff for the home instead of buying it. I have to be realistic after all.
Blessings to y'all.

  1. Amen to that, sistah! Now I will claw my way back into my packrat closet. I just have to move that box, and shove these things over...
