Perfect?

MyHotComments.com

I read something interesting recently about relationships. It said....There are no perfect relationships....only two people overlooking each other's imperfections. If someone is looking for a perfect relationship they are going to end up alone and very lonely. Either that or they are going to be forever looking and searching for that perfect relationship. If you really love someone you overlook their minor faults and small things that you may find annoying. You don't try to change them because you can't change anybody and you can only change yourself.

I think too many people look at a person from the outside and only see the superficial instead of looking within. Also, too many people try to be someone they are not. Or they try to be a certain way...just to impress others. Why can't we all just be ourselves? If we are the best person that we can be that that is all that really matters. We need to live up to our own expectations instead of trying to live up to the expectations of others. Otherwise, we are not being true to ourselves.

God our creator created us as perfect human beings. He/She sees us as perfect no matter how many mistakes we make. God loves us just as we are. Why can't we just open our eyes and realize that? God = LOVE.
Blesssings.

  1. Amen, sister! I don't know why people put on a different personae when the are interested in someone else. A good friend was going through a very bad time with her husband and she asked he why he had been so interested in what she thought and did when they were dating and now thought she was an idiot who didn't do anything interesting. He said, that that was what he had to do to get a wife! What the F***??

Why pretend something you're not. I always told my girls, just be yourself and let those that like you the way you are come to you.

  2. This reminds me of the verse/song I learnt as a kid in Sunday school:

"Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is Love. Beloved, Let us love one another. First John 4: 7 and 8." *grin*

Now, if only we could get the fundamentalists who believe that God is Hate to remember (and reread this verse until it's as thoroughly ingrained in their minds as it is in mine) this little fact. GOD/DESS IS LOVE!!! It's HUMANS that pervert, and have for millenia, that message!

    Great post, Barb!!

  3. Great post. Many people go into a relationship thinking that the other person can be changed into something else. That is why a lot of relationships fail these days. We need to accept people for who they are and not try to change them. God is Love. :)
