Just Everyday Stuff

I was off work yesterday and it was a miserable day. We went to a family thing at one of Russell's family members....we had a fight on the way there (but all is well now) so I felt miserable to begin with. Then it was so hot and we were outside that I got too much sun and felt crappy the whole time. I finally told him to bring me home which he did and I was sick (throwing up) for about three hours. I know I was dehydrated. All they had to drink there was iced tea (which I never drink) and water (tap water). The water here is very nasty and I drank a cup of it so that probably made me even sicker.

I felt much better when I got up this morning. I worked 8 hours today and then came home and changed and went to the gym for about an hour. Well just under an hour because I started feeling dizzy. At least this time my foot did not hurt on the treadmill. I did an upper body workout and did the treadmill, recumbent bike and the elliptical trainer. I feel pretty good now....like I actually have some energy. Now it's after 9 and I'm just cooking dinner. It should not take too long though.

There was this cute little old man who came into my line at work today. He was in one of those carts you drive. He could not hear to good because I had to keep telling him everything two or three times in a very loud voice. I'm sure they could probably hear me at the other end of the store! He had one of those food stamp cards and couldn't figure out how to use it so I helped him with that. So I finished with him and behind him was a cute little old lady with a walker. It turned out that she was his wife. She told me he was only supposed to buy tomatoes and he filled up his little basket. (but forgot the tomatoes) Then she said in a whisper to me....I bet he'll want to take me out for a burger after this. And she said she should be happy he still likes to do these things. But the scary thing would be if one of them were driving cause neither of them could barely walk and the man was almost deaf. I hope they got home OK. They were just the cutest couple! I just love elderly people.
Blessings

  1. I sure hope you are feeling better, I can't take the heat either (they are predicting 113 here today). You did well with teh upper body work out considering you had been sick to your stomach!
The elderly are a treasure to learn from. They have lived history not in most text books, and most of teh time they just want someone to listen! Good job hon. Have a wonderful day!

  3. I hope they made it home ok too. I had to try and communicate with an almost deaf man on Saturday and I ended up shouting. My throat hurt by the time I finished.
