Mumble Jumble of Thoughts

When I came home from work today at 2:30 pm the temperature was 79 degrees. I just went out again and it was down to 59 degrees. Yaaayyyyy....finally some cool weather!!!!! It's also raining and I love the rain. I just brewed some coffee and it tastes pretty good with the coconut creme creamer in it. Maybe soon we will be able to shut the air conditioner off. I only put it on when I'm cooking and otherwise I just run the fan part of it.

Last week we bought some new kitchen gadgets to cook with. A George Foreman Grill and a carbon steel Wok. Those will come in handy to quickly cook healthy food. With the odd hours we both have we end up eating out way too much. These are the ones we bought (below). I have tried the George Foreman Grill and it cooks really quickly. I made pork chops but next time I need to cook them a little less. I put teriyaki sauce on them. Oh yeah I also cooked some salmon on it. I think next time I'll try chicken breasts.

Yesterday a woman came into Walmart with her kids and they were driving her nuts. This is what she told me. You know....insanity is hereditary....you get it from your kids. I thought that was funny and hmmmm.....maybe it's true?

My daughter Kayla (age 20) sometimes calls me and asks me the weirdest things. Today was very weird. Her first sentence was....Mom do you think some guys have to have big trucks because they have small weenies? I better not say how the rest of our conversation went but it was funny. We can talk about anything. Hi Kayla!!!!!!

I wonder if Russell will remember my birthday this month on OCTOBER 24th? My son also had a birthday this month and turned 13 on October 9th.

  1. I have never used a wok and would love to learn (I even have one that has never been used). I laughed at your daughters comment - we always said they were penial extensions!! I can't believe I actually just typed that!!!

  2. Have fun with your new kitchen stuff! my son Eric LOVES cooking boneless chicken breast on the George Foreman.

LOL About your daughter, I bet that was an interesting conversation. lol

You and my grandson Wesley share the same birthday, he will be 5 Oct. 24. :)

My meatloaf turned out great, it was so yummy.

My sons and I drove over to the new mall after dinner, just to ride through it and see all the stores that are open. Most were open, but there were a few that wont be opening for a while now. I am patiently waiting for the Bath and Body Works to open, but I don't think that will open until 2009. I did run into Pet Smart and picked up Emma's food and I bought her a little .99 cent ball. I also went into the 5 Below store and got 10 banana Laffy Taffy's, I love those things, and that store sells them 10 for $1.00.

I agree with your daughter. Guys who need Hummers and other gigantic V8 behemoths are probably lacking size and capacity in *other* areas of their lives.

  5. We have a GF grill and use it all the time. It is great for chicken, fish and burgers. We have that same wok but don't use it as much as I would like to.

That truck thing is called little man syndrome. It goes something like this...Big truck, little (insert word) LOL

  6. pearls and chocolate....using a Wok is quick and easy. You do have to get it seasoned though and the darker it becomes, the better it is for stir frying.

  7. Your welcome, Barbara. I make sticky chicken all year round, if I didn't I think my family would kill me, they love it so much.

  8. Shirla, we have a bath and body works here and it's right next to the Goodwill and Goody's. I need to go there one of these days and check out all three of those stores.

  10. Greg..do you put anything on the things that you cook? Have you tried teriyaki sauce? It seemed to stick to the grill but it tasted good.

  11. Glad you're getting some cooler weather. :)

The wock and grill are a good idea. It's too easy to eat out rather than cook a healthy meal when you're strapped for time.

*Wonders how that conversation turned out*
