Bonjour, Mes Amis

If I remember correctly, the above is Hello, My Friends (in French) It's been probably 30 years since I took French, so who knows what I'm really saying?

The computer is sort of fixed. I can put pictures on it again. Russell hooked up a different tower and at least now I don't get that error thing anymore where every time I tried to go into my picture file, my browser would shut down. The connection is still slow and it will be until Russell's Sprint contract for the satellite thing is over with and then we can get regular high speed Internet.

We had a pretty bad hail storm yesterday while I was at work. It sounded so loud on the roof and the hail was probably the size of a nickel. I expected damage to my vehicle but there wasn't any. Later that night we had severe thunderstorm warnings and possibility of tornadoes. I don't know if anyplace ended up getting any, but thankfully we did not.

I'm not happy at all about the results of the election. I hear a lot about Obama being the Anti-Christ and also about him being our Saviour. While I think both of those labels are overly dramatic, I do feel that a lot of things are going to come out in the next few months that may make people wish they did not vote for him. I get a very bad feeling about him, similar to what I felt when Bush got in. Something is just *off* when it comes to Obama if you know what I mean. I am registered as an independent who always vote Democrat but in this case, I was for McCain. I think that's all I'm going to say about it.

I'm off work tomorrow and I don't know yet what my plans will be except I do know I have to go refill the water bottles at the culligan machine. We have no water left and can't drink our crappy tap water. I may do some baking if it's cool out. And I definitely have to do some cleaning and laundry.

I'm waiting for my new exercise program to come by UPS. I thought it would be here today but guess not. It should be here tomorrow. I'm eager to get started with it. I think that Russell thinks it will just be another thing I buy and don't use. I'll just have to prove him wrong....don't ya think?

Today a woman came into work and had that east coast accent....a really strong accent. I had that same accent until I was in NM for awhile. I remember when I first moved to NM people would always try to get me to say....Park the car in the garage. haha. They would remark on my accent and ask where I was from. I catch myself every once in awhile saying a word that sounds east coast or as they say here....Yankee. Other than that I don't think I have any type of an accent anymore.

What's the deal?
People here in Oklahoma tend to call things deals. At work they will ask me to scan that deal under the shopping cart. It took me a minute to figure out they wanted me to scan their soda....which they call pop here. Or...they will say they need a lighter and tell me they are going to look in the deal over there (meaning the next aisle) Then I have to put the groceries in the bags which I refuse to call sacks....cause that is just wrong...they are bags and always will be.

Well...that's all folks. Have a good weekend. :)

  2. I liked your post today. They call soda "pop" up here in Oregon too. I call it soda. So you are in Oklahoma, i was confused as to where you lived, you talk about so many different states. My hubby says the same things about stuff I want to start.

  4. Hey Barb!!!! Glad to see you!!! FWIW, "bonjour" means "good day", so it COULD be said to mean "goodbye" but in most cases I think that yeah, it's meant as "hello". "Au revoir" is said for goodbye, more often, I believe.

Hope you have a good weekend!
